Founded in 1953 as a "service club" on the Carthage, Illinois Campus of Carthage, the Tau Sigma Chifraternity is the oldest Greek Organizations at Carthage College. Members of the fraternity were known as "the Turtles" and still go by this moniker today. The first class of 1953 was led by President Don "Ace" Henderson.
In 1982, the first class of women were admitted into the Tau Sigma Chi fraternity. The adopted the moniker of "the Turtle Doves", or "the Doves" as they are more commonly know. An accurate record of all Dove Presidents is missing from our archives, but the first recorded Dove President was Amberly Farber in 1986.
Unfortunately, Carthage College suspended the fraternity for 4 years in 2021. Therefore there are no Actives on campus. The Alumni Association will continue to update this webpage and the Facebook Group.
